This week, the nominations for the 35th edition of the Gouden Kalf (Golden Calf) 2015 were announced at the Ketelhuis and live at De Wereld Draait Door.
Major contenders are GLUCKAUF with 10 nominations, BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS and PRINCE with 8 nominations, and SCHNEIDER US BAX and THE SURPRISE with 7 nominations. The Golden Calves will be presented on Friday, October 2nd at the Beatrix Theater, the closing night of the Dutch Film Festival.
The Gouden Kalf is the award of the Dutch Film Festival, which is held annually in Utrecht. The award has been presented since the first edition in 1981. This Grand Prize of the Dutch Film will be awarded to the best Dutch filmmakers, screenwriters, producers, actors and actresses.
The Golden Calf was designed in 1980 by the Utrechtse artist Theo Mackaay commissioned by Jos Stelling, film director and founder of the festival.
In the Golden Calf Competition Dutch feature films, short films, documentaries and TV dramas compete for the following categories:
Best feature film, director, actor, actress, supporting actor, supporting actress, screenplay, camera, sound, editing, music, production design, short film, long documentary, short documentary, television drama, actor tv drama, actress tv drama, special jury award and best audience award.
